  • The trade between the Islanders and Blackhawks. Why, Garth? You need to log off already.

Picks Contest

Here’s the deal. Every Friday we’re going to hold a draft in which we take turns picking the winners of that Saturday’s slate of games. On Monday we’ll recap the results, and the winner will get to pick one game (anytime between Monday-Thursday) which the loser has to watch, and track scoring chances for (which’ll be posted on NHL Numbers).

This is our 3rd week running the contest. Cam lost our first go at it, recapping a Phoenix/Buffalo game as the result. This past week I took the loss, and then devoted 3+ hours of my life to a Florida/Toronto game. We clearly mean business. Below are this week’s newest set of picks (bold):

Columbus @ San Jose

Edmonton @ New Jersey

Calgary @ Philadelphia

Phoenix @ Dallas

NYR @ Pittsburgh

Florida @ Carolina

Colorado @ NYI

Montreal @ Carolina

Chicago @ Phoenix

Winnipeg @ St.Louis

Ottawa @ Boston

Vancouver @ Toronto

Anaheim @ Nashville

Detroit @ Tampa Bay

New Jersey @ Washington

You’ll note that we’ve included Friday’s slate of games into our picks this week. With this being the final week prior to the Sochi Olympic break, and Saturday having an even number of games, we figured this would be the best tiebreaker. The beautiful thing about playing your own game is that you can make up the rules as you go along!
